It's 3 years since Cruise West Cumbria have had a car show, so when we were invited to be in charge of the car show as part of the Pendragon Festival, organised by Eden County Council (Penrith) we were more than happy to.  The Festival was to take place at the Leisure Centre in Penrith on Saturday 29th of August 2009.  The Pendragon Festival initially started last year as nothing more than a skateboarding event; but after the Council took the opportunity to speak to the young people in the area, this year was to see a big change.  There were BMX stunts, a graffiti artist, DJ's and Mc'ing and for the car enthusiasts out there, Cruise West Cumbria put on a show of some of the finest cars in the County.  With close up viewing of rally cars and the Pendragon rally scrutineering, all free of charge to see, there were no complaints.

On the day the weather stayed mostly fine, allowing several hundred people to attend and take part in Cruise West Cumbria's very own "Car of the Show" competition.  The members of the public voted through a ballot system to find their favourite car.  The winner, Dougie with his red Civic, as pictured below, received a stylish trophy and much admiration for his car.  Novaboot volunteered to have his bonnet painted by our graffiti artist and the results were more than impressive.

The day proved to be a massive success for all involved and there are currently plans underway for an even better show in 2010 with the possibility of more club stands and entertainment so stay tuned........

Pictures of the stand and parts of the show are below but there are plenty more pictures of the rest of the show on the forum
