The Cumbrian Car
Show 2005 was the biggest car show West Cumbria has ever seen. With hundreds of
cars on display, the modified motors stole the show. Clubs came from far and
wide to show their cars, some with just a single car and others with as many as
20 cars. CWC was at the heart of the show with 22 cars on display.
The afternoons
competitions attracted a good crowd. The Toyota Celica shown below won the Show
and Shine, a Peugeot 306 (not pictured) won the Sound Off, and the MG Midget
shown below won the Return of the Old Skool competition. Dumfries Cruise won the
best club stand trophy. The Flame Out competition did not attract enough
entrants to be run, which is surprising when you see the amount of flame on
display at the after show cruise! (CWC 13).
The CWC babes and the Bikini Car Wash were also a great
attraction, with lots of people taking pictures. There
were plenty more babes on display, with the Vanilla lingerie models, the Fuel
girls, the Subaru girls and many more keeping the lads happy.
The local body
shops put on a good display of cars, with Aurora Motorsport, Bat Cars, Park Road
Autobody and Air Devils showing off their best work. The bat cars sound stage
and the Park Road Autobody stage kept us entertained throughout the day with
some excellent DJing and MCing.
There were also
plenty of unmodified cars to see, with most of the local dealerships putting on
a display. Of these cars the F1 and rally cars attracted most attention.
If the pictures
below are not enough for you, many more taken by our members can be found in the
pictures section of our forum. Thanks to everyone who helped out on the day,
there are too many names to list here, but you guys and girls know who you are.
We can't wait
for next years show, which has been named "Cruise Fest North West", and will
take place on 10th and 11th June 2006 at Carlisle Race Course.
