CWC11 was the first cruise to be held in Kendal, and with the RS Owners Club Show just outside the town the day after, it fitted in perfectly with the weekends motoring events. As always there was a great turnout and some very nice cars on show. It was good so see some new cars on display, and also good to see the changes that the CWC regulars have made to their cars since the last cruise. The night went well with people coming from as far as 3 hours away, joining and organising convoys to give us their support. We had good comments on the nights event and it's good to hear that they look forward to CWC12.

    Thanks to the Cumbria Constabulary, as on Friday afternoon Morrisons complained about the Cruise, (before it even started) and asked the police if they could put a stop to it. The police refused, saying it was a public car park and they couldn't stop us from having access to it. They obviously understand the chaos that a few hundred cars would cause in a small holiday town like Kendal if they had nowhere to park. The police even tried to get the car park lights turned back on, after they been turned off during the cruise, but unfortunately didn’t succeed.

    The overall report from the Police, which was passed on to the security at Morrisions, was that the night had gone smoothly as expected. The police stopped a few cars for illegal tints, but on the whole were impressed with the behaviour of the Cruisers. They could see that there was no damage and the litter was cleared up at the end of the night (even though it was hard to see with no lights). Thanks to the Cruise Wombles who helped out clearing up the car park. With our fingers crossed we hope will be back in Kendal for a future cruise.
