CWC16 back where it started, with Fast Car in attendance. It was our first time
back at Halfords Car Park in Workington for over 2 years, and going by the
number of cars and people that turned up it was worth all the effort. After a
hectic week of phone calls and emails and the possible chance of having to move
locations to another part of Cumbria, we finally got things sorted one day
before the Cruise!
We managed to fill Halfords and B&Q car park and half of Morrisions with around
450-500 cars in total. People came from as far as North Wales, Glasgow,
Manchester, South Shields and Newcastle. There was a good turnout of modified
cars, boot installs and even a tranny van install which could be heard from one
end of the car park to the other.
On the night we ran the Flame Out competition that we weren't allowed to run at
Cruise Fest North West 2006, with a trophy for the winner. We only had two
entrants, the winner was scoobytalks from
BTTOS.com who would have been hard to beat even if more people had entered.
The Police did an excellent job making sure things went well but leaving us to
enjoy ourselves, they even took a couple of tours round the car park so they
could check out the cars on show. And at the end of the night brought the Police
Evo down for a photoshoot with Fast Car.
Fast Car arrived just before the start of the cruise and started their first
photo shoot with the CWC babes before moving onto the good selection of modified
cars that had arrived. Hundreds of photos were taken on the night and the photo
shoots didn't finish until 2:30 AM the next morning. Our feature should be in
Fast Car within a couple of months.
We'd like to thank everyone who turned up and took part, thank you to Steve from
Fast Car, our sponsors NWC Tuning, FG Performance and John Cook Signs. Not
forgetting the Cruise Wombles and the people who worked with us, Cumbria
Constabulary and the land and store owners at Derwent Howe Retail Park who
helped make last night a big success.
See
you all again at CWC17.
