CWC17
started well, with the car park half full just after 8pm and with many more cars
arriving not long after. Unfortunately we experienced our first cruise
accident, with an Astra and a BMW making contact. Lets hope the insurance pays
up quickly and they can get fixed soon.
The
weather had been cloudy for most of the day and with some occasional showers
forecast we were very lucky that the rain held off until long after the event
and with a good amount of cloud cover it wasn’t too cold.
There
were around 350 cars there throughout the whole of the night. With good support
from Cruisers in Cumbria, and from Cruisers who travelled from as far as North
Wales, the Midlands, Lancashire, Mid Scotland and the North East, there was
certainly a lot to see with some new cars fresh out of the body shop.
There was plenty of action and a good variety of installs including a trophy
winning sound system van, putting out enough dB to be heard by everyone in the
area!
Thank
you to Napa, one of our CWC Babes who helped to promote us and the Modified
Nationals in place of their official girls, who unfortunately couldn’t make it
due to another engagement. Thank you also to our Sponsors
NWC Tuning who came along with their
cars and girls. Thanks to Albert with the burger van which supplied everyone
with hot food until the end of the night. We’d also like to say a big thank you
to Cumbria County Council for giving us permission to use the land and Cumbria
Constabulary who did an excellent job of policing the event by leaving us to it.
Finally,
thanks to the cruise wombles who helped us clean up at the end of the night and
we hope the two unlucky cars that broke down at the cruise and had to be towed
away got home safely.
We hope
to have CWC18 before the end of the summer so watch this space!!!
