CWC 21 was held in memory of Michael Chaplehow,
known as chapz on the forum, who sadly passed away in the early hours of the
29th March 2009. The Cruisers were out in force to pay their respects to him and
a collection was held on the night which will be donated the Great North Air
Ambulance at the request of chapz' family.
CWC 21 saw CWC return to Rosehill car park, a
popular location in Carlisle. The start of summer meant the weather was fine and
lighting was not a problem which ensured a good turn out on the night. As always
there was a good variety of cars and something to suit all tastes, including CWC
member Stash’s Honda CRX fresh from winning Best Jap Car at the Modified
Nationals.
The out of town location meant that the police
presence was kept to a minimum allowing a thoroughly chilled out atmosphere and
a bit of ‘off road’ action. However a few drivers, most notably that of a
Peugeot 106, quickly learned the consequences of getting a bit too carried away!
(see photos below).
Thanks as always to the Cruise Wombles who helped
to clean up at the end of the night (and to collect the parts the Peugeot left
behind!).
We look forward to seeing you all again at CWC22,
which will be coming soon....
