The forecast of wet weather wasn’t enough to deter the CWC cruisers, and the occasional slight drizzle on the night didn’t dampen spirits too much. Another excellent turnout, with at least 350 cars if the counter in the town centre is accurate. Cars came from as far north as Strathclyde and as far south as Manchester and even Surrey!

Once again the Police presence was heavy, though they stuck to the roads next to the venue and only came in once. The traffic lights next to the Upper Viaduct Car Park gave them plenty of time to pick out a few unlucky cruisers with tints and lights that they didn’t like the look of. A number of prohibition notices were issued, and at least one car got points and a fine. The press will no doubt get to know how many cars were stopped. It looks like the presence of a police video unit, and the CCTV in the car park put everyone off risking a burn out.

It was good to see a lot of new cars as well as the CWC regulars. Word seems to be getting around with more and more people making CWC a date for their diaries. It was also pleasing to see developments on cars that had come to earlier cruises. It shows that the modding scene in Cumbria is very much alive and growing at a healthy pace. There was a noticeable trend in adding lights and glowing extras to boot installs, which look superb at a dark winter cruise. There were also some good sparkle and flip paint jobs, which unfortunately don’t show up well in the photos, but look stunning when seen with your own eyes.

By 10:30PM it was pretty much all over, though quite a few cars headed off to Burger King to finish the night off.

Roll on CWC5, details will be coming soon.

One unlucky cruiser getting his car checked over by plod.

Another having his tints tested. Hope the camera flash didn’t screw up the reading!

Easy pickings for a lazy copper.
