The Ripspeed Donny show 2006 took place over the weekend of the 15th and 16th of April. This year it moved from Doncaster down to Donnington Park, which meant it was a lot further for us to travel from Cumbria. That didn't stop CWC from putting together a great stand for the show though. There were 11 cars on the stand over the weekend, 5 of which were on also on the CWC stand at Donny last year. The stand attracted attention from several magazines, so expect to see a few pics of the cars in Fast and Modified and Fast Ford.

The biggest convoy down to the event set off on Friday, stopping at various service stations to pick up cars on the way. We overtook plenty of modded vehicles on the motorway, including a convoy from Fast and Modified. We also bumped into a few familiar cars from Strathy at Charnock Richard services.

Because the Donny Show had moved down south this year, the traditional Friday and Saturday night cruises that it was famous for didn't happen. On the other hand, with the show being held on a Raceway there was the chance to get your car out for one of the many 15 minute sessions on the track. Over the weekend the track also held D1 drift events, Time Attack trials for professionally tuned cars and a press event for the 2006 Gumball 3000.

The show was much bigger this year, with more show cars, cruise stands, babes, and trade stands than before. The size of the event meant that you needed at least two days to see it all. Pictures of the CWC stand and Cumbrian cars are shown below, pictures from the rest of the event can be found in the forum.
