Fast and modified 2006 got off to an early start with some of us setting off in convoy from McDonalds in Kingstown Carlisle at 4am. As usual everyone was in good spirits and the cars to go on the stand, joined by others, made there way up to the Royal Highland Centre in Edinburgh. As usual Sat Nav got us lost this time taking us to the cargo loading bay at Edinburgh airport. It wasn't long before we were at the Showground, set up and ready to enjoy the show. There was plenty to see indoors, trade stands, club stands, including our own stand, and the top 50 show cars. There was also a massive club stand display area outdoors, featuring car clubs from all over Britain with some very impressive vehicles on display. The action arena provided entertainment all day with stunt bike displays and monster trucks jumping and crushing cars. This arena certainly drew the crowds in. The CWC stand got lots of attention all day and a Cumbrian Mini belonging to Neil McKay (which may be recognized from showing with us at Donny 2005) won the ‘Car Of The Show’ trophy also winning a trophy was Dave Pollock, (who also showed with us at Donny 2005), with his Astra, he won ‘Best Interior’. All in all a great day out and thought by many of us as the best one day show of the year with a great stand, bring on next years Fast and Modified 2007. Pictures of the stand are below but there are more pictures of the rest of the show on the forum
