After a warm
still Friday night the Modified Nationals 2005 woke to find a strong wind
blowing across the campsite. The wind whipped up a dust storm every time it blew
across the gravel roads, but with clear blue skies for most of the day the
temperature was bearable. No chance of putting up marquees on Saturday, and
several tents (including the CWC gazebo) fell foul of the strong winds.
All 11 cars were
soon lined up on the stand, and with the help from the CWC Babes it was
attracting a lot of attention. The stand drew the attention of professional
photographers and our CWC Babes were asked to help promote 'Adrenaline', the
extreme sports display team who were using ramps close to the stand. They were
photographed by magazine photographers, including one from FHM and photographers
from the Modified Nationals. They may appear in the Modified Nationals 2006
brochure as Babes of the show 2005.
Saturday night
was a night of entertainment, with hip hop and semi naked women in the Forbidden
Tent, and The Ministry of Sound in a different part of the show playing dance
music.
On Sunday the
wind had gone, leaving only a slight breeze and scorching hot sun. The cars
could at last be polished without fear of being caked in dust, and the CWC
marquee and banner could be put up safely. 12 cars were on the stand on Sunday,
2 of which were not able to make it on Saturday. The day was a great success
with the cars and Cruise Babes once again attracting a lot of attention.
With the
Southport Beach Cruise on the Monday, the four day extravaganza of cars and
babes was probably the best weekend of the year so far. Modified Nationals 2006,
CWC will be there!
