The Modified Nationals 2007 began with a convoy from Forton Services on Friday lunch time, with about 12 cars ready for another weekend of modded motors, girls and camping.  Thanks to k4cof-orange's Astra and Biglockies yellow Audi, the convoy was able to stay together the whole journey down because nobody could get lost following cars that colour!  We set up camp when we got there and after a lot of drink, a few campfires and then what sleep we could get, we were up ready for the start of the show.  The campsite was massive so there was plenty of room for us all to camp together.

Saturday's weather was great, with the stand all set up we settled down inside the marquee to take in the atmosphere, and as our stand was right in amongst the main part of the show we didn't have far to walk.  There was no track this year but plenty to see such as the DB Drag Racing, Soapbox racing and the action arena, as well as around 120 car clubs on show and plenty of show girls to admire.  On Saturday afternoon the 2nd round of the bikini competition was underway, Napa one of our Cruise Babes was brave enough to enter even though the weather wasn't hot enough to be semi naked.

Sexyspanner turned up on late on Saturday with her car fresh out of the bodyshop determined to get it on show at all costs. We had a good few more drinks around the barbeque on Saturday night, and a shower of rain made the grass on the campsite into a skid pan so there was plenty of handbrake and drift action to watch. The action stopped when the MDPD turned up armed with fluorescent jackets (and apparently guns and shit!) to kick the nutters off the campsite. Still, there were plenty of fairground rides and a night with Godskitchen to keep us occupied.

On Sunday we woke up to rain and it didn't stop all day, but with everyone helping to put up the marquee in record time (we wonder why!) we were once again able to relax and enjoy the last day of the show in the dry.  On Sunday 16v ecotec was invited to take part in the DB Drag Racing, a sound off competition with a similar setup to a track drag race, but with the cars measured on a decibel meter instead of a stopwatch.  For the first time taking part he was pleased to win a trophy for 2nd place in the Super Street 5 Plus (5 subs max).  We'll be seeing more of this competition in the future!

We received a message on Sunday to say we had to go to the main stand as we'd won a prize. We all piled over and stood in the rain waiting for the announcement. To our surprise we won a trophy for '2nd runner up for Best Club Stand'! It was  announced on stage by Fast Cars very own 'Fat Bastard' Adam Rayner, who said "I see these guys at most shows, they must travel the most miles out of anyone" before presenting us with the trophy. It is nice to be recognised and with this being our first ever trophy as a club and 2 trophies in one day this made this our most successful show yet.

With 7 more cars than in 2005 and 11 more cars than last year this was our biggest stand so far at the Modified Nationals, thank you to everyone from CWC and we hope you are able to join us again next year, we will definitely be there.

A big thank you to the CWC babes for promoting us over the last 2 years.

Pictures of the stand parts of the show are below but there are plenty more pictures of the rest of the show on the forum

The camera doesn't have a colour for this car. It's orange, but much much brighter than in the picture.
