The RS Owners Club 2008

An early start for most people having to get to the show ground for around 8am.  The sun was shinning from 5am on the Sunday morning so we were all looking forward to a relaxing day in the sun and catching up with everyone.  A lot of the members were meeting up for the first time and this was a good opportunity to get to know each other and their cars.

The show took place at the grounds to Heaves Hotel that filled up with a variety of different cars, not only Fords.  The majority of the show was of classics fords and new fords but some stands had other makes of cars on as well.  This year we had 7 none Ford cars on our stand to start, and then 2 Fords joined the stand.  A couple of guys approached us and asked if they could show there cars on the stand, as they were currently stuck in the car park. We had plenty of space so we were happy for them to join us.

As members arrived on the stand, they just parked their cars up, got to know each other then started to make their cars look clean, but nowhere near as clean as some of the Fords.  We had brought the gazebo so we put that up, which was handy to shelter a lot of people from the sun when it got too hot.

As we walked around the show we could see that Ford owners really know how to look after their cars.  Even the classic cars were immaculate.

With the day being so hot, we soon needed drinks and food.  Some of us went up to the Heaves Hotel where they were kind enough to supply everyone with bacon sandwiches or just a tomato sauce sandwich (Kate).  Some other members came prepared with bacon and sausages on a BBQ with coffee.

We really enjoyed the day to relax and catch up with everyone and we hope to return to the RSOC next year.
