Trax took place on Sunday 2nd September and for many was the last show of the season. It was CWC's first time at Trax as a Club, and with a stand booked for 7 cars and nice weather forecast we were sure it was going to be a good end to 2007. Some of us travelled down on Saturday night to camp over, some stayed in a hotel nearby and others set off in the early hours of the morning from Cumbria, to make sure they were there in time for us to set up the stand. Trax is held at Silverstone circuit and is one of the bigger shows of the year, with more club stands than ever taking part. It's obvious when you get there that Silverstone are used to dealing with big shows. Show cars could get onto their stands within half an hour of arriving, much better than the three hour queuing time some of us had at Donny. With multiple entrances, good sign posts and marshals who knew where everything was, it meant there was plenty of time left after getting there to enjoy the show. It's a good thing too, as the show only lasts for a single day. It was good to be part of the show and we were lucky enough to be given a prime spot in the Paddock, a place we would have chosen if we had been given the choice. Due to new modifications being run in and people waiting for new parts to arrive for their cars, no one from CWC took up the opportunity of track action or the sprint on the famous Silverstone track. It didn't matter too much as both the track and sprint were busy all day with runners ranging from from highly modified and high spec cars, to cars with very little modifications just wanting to experience a bit of track action. At one point in the day an Aerial Atom was trying to break the production car 0-60 record and was filmed by Fifth Gear for Channel 5. They broke the record in one direction but couldn't make it stick by repeating it in the opposite direction. Most people left the show early afternoon, ready for a long drive home. However, a few keen DB Drag enthusiasts wanted to see the end of the Drag Racing and the trophy presentation. 16v ecotec once again went away with a trophy for 3rd place in the Bass Race. We look forward to more track action and DB Drag noise when the new show season starts in 2008. Pictures of the CWC stand and a few from around the show can be seen below. Plenty more have been posted up in the pictures section of the forum.

About a third of the show, there were as many cars behind the cameraman and as many again out of shot to the left as can be seen here |
